AM/NS India is an integrated flat carbon steel manufacturer – from iron ore to ready-to-market products – with an achievable crude steel capacity of 9 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). Our manufacturing facilities comprise iron making, steelmaking and downstream facilities spread across India.

AN ENDURING PARTNERSHIP
I/N Tek and I/N Kote
ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel have operated I/N Tek and I/N Kote in Indiana, US, under joint venture agreements since 1987. I/N Tek and I/N Kote are high-added value downstream steel finishing facilities that serve the automotive and domestic appliance markets.
AM/NS Calvert
More recently, in 2014, ArcelorMittal partnered with Nippon Steel on the acquisition of AM/NS Calvert, a downstream finishing facility in Alabama, US. The facility, which opened in 2010 and has a capacity of 5.3 million tonnes, was the largest newly- constructed steel plant in the US in 40 years. But the plant failed to reach its potential, paving the way for its eventual sale to ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel. A major investment programme followed the acquisition and Calvert is today recognized as one of the most advanced steel finishing facilities in the world.
