The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We create friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of the UK and other countries. We do this by making a positive contribution to the UK and the countries we work with – changing lives by creating opportunities, building connections and engendering trust.

The British Council is recognised across India for its network of libraries and cultural centres. We offer a range of specialised projects in arts, education, English language and society to audiences across India. We also provide access to English language training and learning for both students and teachers and enable opportunities to study in the UK.

We work with a wide range of partners in cities all over India, enabling British and Indian experts to meet and collaborate and to nurture mutually beneficial relationships.
