At Info Edge, we celebrate innovations. Hackathons, the annual event driven by engineering teams, is a place where teams collaborate to ideate, innovate, code, test and achieve goal while turning up the fun quotient. The hackathon allows participants to choose any area or technology to make an impact across the business verticals- Jobs, Matrimony, Real Estate & Education and even beyond.
Participants with different backgrounds (Technology, Operations, Design, and Product) come together, form teams around a problem or idea, and collaboratively code a unique solution from scratch — which generally takes shape in the form of websites, technology solutions, mobile apps, and product features. Technology leaders guide and evaluate the projects / ideas and top teams get an opportunity to showcase their project to the entire organization and win exciting prizes.
Hackathon is a catalyst that reenergizes and propels us ahead. Every year lot of these ideas / projects is picked up and transformed into reality in form of a product or a feature. We also did our first remote Hackathon this year in September! It was an exhilarating experience as over 250+ participants coded it out over a mega 36 hours marathon.
Operations team celebrated the WorkSmart Day which was dedicated to the “continuous improvement approach” that operations team embraces daily. A total of 23 kiosks were put by various teams explaining their improvement achievements. More than 200+ people attended talks given by leaders on multiple topics such as Frugal Innovation, Consumer Personalization and Industry trends. Over 250 people recorded 30-second stories explaining what ‘worksmart’ means to them.
