Girish Kulkarni is the Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Cytecare Hospitals and is responsible for the design and implementation of the technology and medical informatics architecture for the hospital network.
Mr Kulkarni in an Industrial & Production Engineer from Mysore University, an alumnus of ISB’s Global CIO Certification program and has over 22 years of experience in Business, Telecom Operations and Healthcare IT Management & Transformation consulting.
With over a decade of Healthcare IT Experience in Indian Provider space, he was one of the first in the country to pioneer the concept of "CIO AS A SHARED SERVICE". He has worked with multiple clients in the region and also support a few state initiatives for improved healthcare system / process delivery in the country. Mr Kulkarni has rich experience in setting up IT Systems for various healthcare organizations from diagnostic centres to a chain of hospitals. Currently, he is also responsible for building a strong “SMAC 3.0” based mobile application suite for a fast growing Home Health provider too. He has worked on IT Transformation projects over the last few years and has been involved in detailed assessment and due diligence of over 20+ HIS systems (Indian products) thus offering a quick launch of the initiatives around Transformed IT Ecosystem. He has implemented over 4 different ERP systems for healthcare providers in the last few years.
Mr Kulkarni was named as the “CIO of the Year” for the Healthcare – Pharma – Life Sciences vertical for 2015, by Mumbai Stock Exchange’s (BSE) annual IT Awards.
As Chief Operating Officer, Dr Selwyn Colaco, MBBS, MHA is responsible for the clinical and business operations for the Cytecare hospital network. Dr Colaco is a physician manager and an empanelled NABH assessor with over 25 years of clinical and management experience in various healthcare systems. After graduating in medicine, he worked as a clinician for over 10 years before doing his MHA from Administrative Staff College of India; a program conducted in association with Johns Hopkins University, USA.
After an administrative residency at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore, in 2000, Dr Colaco joined a healthcare consulting organization involved in strategic consulting and facility planning, for a range of corporate clients. From 2002-2005, at Apollo Health and Lifestyle Ltd., Hyderabad (a subsidiary of the Apollo Hospitals Group), he helped set up franchised healthcare services through a chain of branded ‘Apollo Clinics’ across the country. He then set up ‘The Cradle’ in Delhi, the first in a chain of boutique birthing facilities set up by Apollo. As Medical Director – BGS Global Hospitals, from 2006-2008, he was involved in project management of the 450 bed hospital in Bangalore, where he went on to coordinate and supervise the delivery of clinical care. After a brief stint at Narayana Health, he joined Fortis Hospitals in 2010, where he managed medical services and quality and helped the hospital at Bannerghatta Rd achieve JCI re-accreditation. He then went lead Fortis Hospital at Cunningham Road; where he developed and implemented strategies to grow the business. In his most recent role as Regional Medical Director, he managed medical strategy, operations and quality for the hospitals in the southern region.
Himanshu Shah is Co-founder & CFO in Cytecare Hospitals. He is also Co-founder & CFO in Medwell Ventures, and Co-founder & Director in Cytespace Research. Mr Shah has over 24 years of experience in different segments of the pharmaceutical industry and has steered several enterprises from their start- up stage to financial consolidation.
Earlier, Mr Shah spent over 14 years in Quintiles India since its inception. He was part of its senior management team and a member of the Board of Directors. He managed various governance functions including finance and corporate development across business lines.
A post-graduate from Gujarat University, Mr Shah has been trained at the Kellogg School of Management, USA; Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad (IIMA); and the Indian School of Business, India. He is a member of various professional bodies including the IMA CFO Forum.
Suresh Ramu is the Co-founder & CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of Cytecare Hospitals. Mr Ramu is also a Co-founder & Director of Cytespace Research and Co-founder of Medwell Ventures.
Prior to establishing Cytespace in 2011, Mr Ramu spent 10+ years with Quintiles Transnational. As Vice President and Head – India, for Clinical Development Services, he managed all aspects of clinical trials conduct in the country. Holding diverse senior leadership positions, he was instrumental in creating two valuable assets for the organisation – the world’s largest multi-shift data management operations to process clinical trial data, and Asia’s largest cardiac safety lab.
In his consulting role, Mr Ramu advised on process improvement, cost management and customer relations at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He was also an early team member at a telemedicine start-up in India.
Mr Ramu has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management – Calcutta. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and has presented at various professional conferences in India and abroad.
