Executive Team

Ashok Vemuri is the President and CEO of IGATE Corporation and also a Member of the Board.

Ashok most recently served as Member of the Board of Infosys Limited, Head of Americas and Global Head of Manufacturing and Engineering Services.

Ashok also previously served as the Chairman of Infosys China and was on the Board of Infosys Public Services. He earlier established and ran the Financial Services and Insurance business for nine years, making it the largest business unit within Infosys. In his role as Head of Americas, Ashok was responsible for Infosys’ business operations in the company’s largest region – with $4.7 billion in revenues – and he oversaw all facets of the business, from strategic direction to maintaining and improving financial and operational efficiency.

Ashok previously directed the work of Infosys Foundation in the U.S. Under his guidance, the Foundation supported the education of underprivileged students, the reskilling of former auto sector employees in Detroit and other initiatives to drive education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. He has also been involved in the UN’s Every Woman Every Child movement to improve health.

Prior to joining Infosys in 1999, he worked in the investment banking industry at Bank of America and Deutsche Bank.

Ashok has been widely recognized for his expertise in global sourcing and technology-led transformation. In 2013, he was honored as one of the 50 Outstanding Asian Americans in Business by the Asian American Business Center. In 2008, he was selected by leading Indian magazine, Business Today, as one of India’s 25 Hottest Young Executives.

As a well-respected business and global sourcing leader, Ashok has appeared on broadcast outlets including CNBC and NDTV, and has been widely quoted in leading publications, including The New York Times, International Herald Tribune, American Banker, and Waters Technology. Ashok is also recognized for his thought leadership and is a frequent speaker at conferences and symposiums organized by the American Bankers Association, the Asia Society, Wall Street and Waters Technology, among others.

Ashok is committed to the education of future business leaders, serving on the Board of Visitors of the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He was also elected to the Forum of Young Global Leaders (YGL) in 2009 by the World Economic Forum (WEF). Ashok was elected to the Board of IT Governors in the WEF in 2014.

He holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in Physics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and a master’s degree in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Derek Kemp is an Executive Vice-President and Global Head of Strategic Deals Team.

Derek has 30 years of experience in areas including consulting, systems integration and strategic outsourcing. During his career, he has operated globally in a variety of market sectors, both public and private, and has led teams providing solutions and services to respond to significant change driven by regulatory reform, market liberalization and market disruption.

Prior to IGATE, Derek was the Managing Director of Polestar Applied Solutions — a provider of outsourcing services to the Print & Media sector. Earlier, he was Practice Head for Financial Services and Media at Charteris — a UK consulting firm. Prior to that he spent 17 years working with Logica where he was a member of the UK board. During his time at Logica, Derek led teams in the Energy & Utilities, Telecommunications and Financial Services sectors, both in the UK and overseas. He also brings significant experience of Mergers & Acquisitions.

Derek holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences from the Robert Gordon University, Scotland.

Sanjay Tugnait is an Executive Vice-President and the Head of Banking and Financial Services for North America at IGATE. In this role, he is responsible for driving profitable growth in the banking and financial services industry by adding new clients and growing existing ones.

Prior to joining IGATE, Sanjay was the Managing Partner of Accenture’s Financial Services (FS) practice in India and a member of the Accenture India leadership team. He not only set up their Financial Services business in India but also within three years, quadrupled the revenues and managed a profitable P&L. Prior to his India tenure, Sanjay was a Partner in Accenture’s North America practice. During this period, he won multi-million dollar consulting and technology contracts and signed global MSAs with Fortune 500 companies.

During his tenure at Accenture, Sanjay was a member of the Global CEO Advisory Council. In this role, he was one of the 25 handpicked Partners across the world advising the CEO and his core leadership team on global strategic direction setting, challenges and competitive intelligence.

Sanjay was also a Principal at IBM/PwC. He helped build and grow its Consulting and Technology practice.

Sanjay has an MBA from London University. An avid golfer, scuba diver and philanthropist, he is an active board member of Save The Children, India. He is also affiliated to the Investment Advisory Board, Mississauga, and was on the Marketing Advisory Board of Rotman Business School.

Dr Srinivas, in his current role, drives IGATE’s HR Strategy, Quality Management and Marketing globally.

Srinivas is an HR generalist with over 23 years of hands-on and minds-on experience in all the facets of Human Resource Management strategy and practice. Prior to joining IGATE, he held senior HR leadership roles in Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. and Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd. Under his leadership at Power Grid, Sasken, and IGATE, each were recognized as ‘The Best Employer’ in leading national and international surveys and credited for people-driven business growth.

Srinivas is a Doctoral Fellow from XLRI, Jamshedpur. He has published over 60 papers and 8 books in the areas of Strategic Human Resource Development, Performance Management, Organization Development, and Self-Development in international publications and in multiple languages. Some of these have received wide acclaim. He is a member of various national and international forums and a speaker at HR forums like NASSCOM, CII, and National HRD Network. He has also delivered lectures on special invitation at Human Capital Summit (USA), Strategic Human Resource Management Council (UK), Society for Human Resource Management, XLRI, MDI, ASCI and IIMs.

Sujit Sircar is an Executive Vice-President and the Chief Financial Officer of IGATE, responsible for Finance, Administration, Legal, Investor Relations and M&A functions of the company. Additionally, he heads the Information Systems and Networks divisions of IGATE. He has over 20 years of experience in the field of Corporate Finance with core competence in strategic business planning, forex, treasury and fund management. He took over the role of Chief Financial Officer of IGATE Corporation in 2008 prior to which he was the Senior Vice-President – Finance. He joined IGATE in 1998 from WIPRO where he was the finance head for two of its verticals.

During his long tenure in IGATE, Sujit has been significantly involved in listing IGATE’s Indian operations on Indian Stock Exchanges and its delisting from the same in 2008. He was also instrumental in driving innumerable Mergers & Acquisitions the Company made during the last 12 years. He also supervised all the spin-off and sale of non-core IGATE businesses in 2008 and the maiden secondary public offering of the Founder shareholders of the Company in 2010.

In early 2010, Sujit spearheaded the Indian IT industry’s largest leveraged buyout – that of Patni Computer Systems Limited by IGATE. Amidst all the complexities involved in the cross-border transaction with both companies listed, Sujit ably led the way from a financial and legal standpoint to oversee a smooth and successful completion of the acquisition.

Sujit is a Chartered Accountant by training and is also an active member and speaker at various professional bodies.

Srikanth Iyengar is a Senior Vice-President and Head of Europe & Australia at IGATE.

Srikanth most recently served as the Regional Head – Europe, Financial Services (the largest industry sector in the region) for Infosys Limited. He also held additional responsibility as a Member of the European Regional Leadership Council and Infosys Head of UK. In this role, he contributed to Infosys’ strategic direction, external interaction and employee engagement in the region. In prior roles during his 12+ years with Infosys spanning both North America and Europe, Srikanth helped establish the Strategic Global Sourcing group and also headed global sales for all 50M+ TCV deals across the company.

Srikanth has been quoted in leading publications, including The Financial Times and Management Today, on topics ranging from global sourcing, technology services, management styles to the growing success of Indian diaspora. He has also spoken at conferences organized by the London School of Economics, London Business School, British American Business and Asia House, among others. He is a member of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)’s India Business Forum in the UK, and also of International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP)’s Regional Advisory Board.

Prior to joining Infosys, he worked for almost 4 years in the CPG industry at ITC Limited, and briefly at Silverline Technologies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the College of Engineering, Pune and a master’s degree in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.
