IBM Client Innovation Center – India operates out of 6 centres.

IBM Global Technology Services is the largest information technology infrastructure services business in the world. We serve thousands of clients who increasingly require a hybrid combination of on- and off-premise systems and cloud environments. Our clients look to GTS to design, build and run their systems that are the backbone of the world’s economy. We leverage insights and experience drawn from IBM’s global scale, skills and technology. IBM Sales & Distribution (S&D) develops, integrates, sells and distributes IBM’s unparalleled array of products and services. IBM offers its products through its global organizations. Consistent with IBM’s focus on business values, the company’s global team of account representatives combines a deep understanding of each client’s organizational and industry specific needs with comprehensive knowledge of the products, technologies and services offered by IBM and its network of business partners.

India Software Lab (ISL) is one of the largest product development centers for IBM globally. ISL focuses on developing products, technology and solutions for IBM Software Group, IBM Systems & Technology Group and IBM Engineering & Technology Services.

IBM Software Group is the largest middleware company in the world with product offerings spanning its five brands: WebSphere, Information Management, Lotus, Tivoli, and Rational. ISL teams work on various emerging technology areas like Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), XML, Web 2.0, Application Servers, Databases, Development Tools, Content Management, Systems Management, Autonomic Computing and Collaboration Technologies.

IBM Systems and Technology is leader in servers and Storage Systems globally. Teams at ISL are involved in designing and developing Operating Systems including Linux, AIX, zOS, Storage Systems and High Performance
Systems. Apart from these areas, teams also work on key technologies in the areas of Networking, File Systems, Virtualisation, Super Computing and Processor Architecture.

IBM is also the single largest integrated player in the Engineering & Technology Services space. This team helps create new electronic products from entire systems to subsystems to complex chips or cards. Some of our technology projects include helping build the world’s first hand-held wireless device with a built-in biometric user authentication and porting xWindows on a watch – the smallest device for such an application.

IBM Research – India (IRL) Established in 1998, IBM Research – India has been advancing information technology through research in software and services, and providing leadership by delivering innovations to IBM’s clients. The lab is focused on a wide array of projects in exploratory and applied research. IRL has an impressive list of achievements, including innovations in service delivery such as customer analytics, workforce management and global delivery management. In addition the lab is working to solve unique challenges in emerging markets such as spoken web, cleansing of noisy data, and scalable analytics platforms for the telecom industry.
