Zydus Takeda Healthcare Private Limited is a joint venture Company between two pharmaceutical giants Zydus Cadila Healthcare Limited an India based 4th leading Pharma Company with global footprints and Takeda Pharmaceuticals, the largest Pharmaceutical Company coming from Japan with worldwide presence.
The JV had a very interesting journey since its inception in 1999. We were born as a Zydus BYK Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. to manufacture intermediates for anti-ulcerant drug Pantoprazole due to a Joint Venture strategic alliance between Zydus Cadila Healthcare Ltd. & BYK Gulden (Germany) a 128 year old research based Pharma Company.
In the year 2003, when worldwide BYK Gulden changed to ALTANA Pharma AG, we also came to be known as Zydus ALTANA Healthcare Pvt Ltd.
In the beginning of the year 2007, Nycomed, another European Pharma Company with headquarters in Roskilde, Denmark, completed its bid for ALTANA Pharma AG and as a result we also subsequently came to be known as Zydus Nycomed Healthcare Private Limited.
The year 2010 was another milestone for the JV when its API plant was commissioned to export several key API’s such as Aprindine, Bamiphylline, Lornoxicam, Suxamethonium, Sulfametrole, Policresulen & Urapidil just to name a few, which are aimed to serve different segments of health care industry, including the anti-ulcerant sector Pantaprazole. It is a 100% Export-Oriented Unit [EOU]. This unit is designed and constructed to comply national and international GMP norms. Our API facility is accredited by various International Audit Agencies & perhaps if not the, is one of the Global manufacturing unit to deliver by synthesizing A-Z of Pantaprazole.
Later in the year 2011 Nycomed was acquired by Takeda Pharmaceutical and as a result we also subsequently came to be known as Zydus Takeda Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. (Thus though our names have changed, our venue / address has remained same).
